❓ FAQ

Questions people actually ask

If yours isn’t here, just email us — we answer the same day.

Are you a pharmacy?

No. World Medics is a general retailer of cosmetics, toiletries and food supplements. We aren't a registered pharmacy and we don't employ a pharmacist, which is why we don't sell prescription or pharmacy-only medicines.

Why don't you sell painkillers?

We legally could — general sale medicines like paracetamol are open to retailers under conditions. We've chosen not to. The margins are poor, the rules around pack sizes and transaction limits are fiddly, and painkillers don't belong in a shop about looking after yourself well.

What does “dose-capped” actually mean?

Every vitamin and mineral we sell sits inside the UK safe upper levels published by the Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals. We publish each dose against its limit on our standards page. No vitamin D above 4,000 IU, no B6 above 10mg, no zinc above 25mg, no vitamin A above 1,500µg.

Are your products fragrance-free?

Some are, and we say so on each product page rather than making a blanket claim. We also sell candles and scented shower gel, so claiming the whole shop is fragrance-free would be nonsense. Our standards page lists every fragrance-free product.

Why can't I just add things to a basket?

Our checkout is being finished. In the meantime, tap Enquire on anything you like and we'll confirm stock, the total and delivery the same day. Nothing is charged until you say yes, and you can change your mind at any point.

Can you tell me which product is right for my skin condition?

We can tell you what's in something, whether it's fragrance-free and how people use it. We can't give medical advice or recommend a product for a diagnosed condition — for that, please speak to a pharmacist, your GP or a dermatologist.

Do you test on animals?

No. Animal testing for cosmetics has been banned in the UK since 1998, and we don't stock anything that's been tested on animals for any other market either.

Is everything vegan?

Most of it, but not all — marine collagen and the fish oil obviously aren't, and some balms contain beeswax. Product pages say so.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not yet. Supplements and cosmetics have different rules in every market and we'd rather do one country properly than four badly.

Can you do gift boxes for a team or an office?

Yes, and it's one of the things we're best at. Tell us your headcount and budget per head and we'll come back with options, invoiced properly with a purchase order if you need one.

Still not sure?

Tell us what you’re trying to sort out and we’ll give you an honest answer, including when the answer is “don’t buy anything”.
